Tura is a municipality town in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It lies in the West Garo Hills district at a distance of 323 km from Shillong and 220 km from Guwahati. It is also the capital city of West Garo Hills district. As per the census of 2011, the total population of the town was 74,858. The official languages of the city are Garo and English. People of every tribal community resides in Tura such as Khasi, Naga, Mizo etc. It shares its border with Bangladesh. Tura is also considered to be one of the largest city in Meghalaya. 45 years ago in the year 1973, the town was made the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tura. The city also consists of some fantastic attractions which one should not miss when one is in the town.

4. Pelga falls-one of the fantastic attractions of Tura, Meghalaya
It lies 7 km far from the main town of the city. The falls offer Splendiferous natural beauty. People also hang out there for the picnic with friends and families. Even you can enjoy a date with your boyfriend or girlfriend in isolation here. It is the traditionally constructed Garo Bamboo Bridge, built over the Ganol River.
