1. Musafir (1957)

The film is an awful story of Uma (Sharmila Tagore) who loses her mother during her birth. Her father, Mohan Sharma who is a workaholic, hates her like anything and blames her for his wife’s death. He only adores her when drunk at night. It is only when Ashok (Dharmendra) comes into her life which slowly brings her out of her shell.
5. Aashirwad (1968)
Hrishikesh Mukherjee’as next movie Aashirbad earned him a lot of fame and recognition. This movie shows how the characters refuse to give up their ideals even in the face of the most gruesome hardships. Ashok Kumar who played the role of ‘Jogi Thakur’ in the movie goes through tragic circumstances where, and he is also forced to leave his daughter behind. This movie is about an honest man’s fight against the increasing corruption in the society. Satyapriya Acharya (Dharmendra) is a man of high principles who believes that ‘man’ is God’s most great creation for a reason and hence, he must always follow the path that is inspired by Him. His beliefs are often challenged both at work and at home, but he refuses to succumb. The movie ends with Satyapriya’s untimely death, after which everyone comes to understand his ideals, including his grandfather who had refused to accept his marriage with a woman of a lower caste.
