According to a government source On Monday night, the Commandos of the Indian Army crossed the LoC in the Poonch sector and killed three Pakistani soldiers in a “tactical retaliatory strike”, which was conducted 250m across the LoC.
The “tactical retaliatory strike” was done just two days after four Indian Army personnel, including a Major, were allegedly killed by Pakistan in Kashmir’s Keri-Rajouri sector.
And a day before Indian Foreign Ministry lashed out at Pakistan for giving an ill-treatment to Jadav’s family.
The sources say that it cannot be compared to the surgical strike like that of September 2016.
According to a source “The raid was to send a message that the Indian Army will retaliate swiftly and strongly to rogue actions,”.
The Indian Army rebut to comment, but the Pakistan Army confirmed the death of three of their Army Men at the Rukh Chakri sector in Rawlakot.
Islamabad called it as “unprovoked heavy cross-border shelling by Indian forces”.
This exchange of bullets took place in the backdrop of a diplomatic upheaval regarding Khulbhusan Jadhav, who was arrested on the charge of espionage.
The ministry alleged that Jadhav’s words were “tutored and designed to perpetuate the false narrative of his alleged activities in Pakistan.”
In a strong statement, India’s external affairs ministry said, “The manner in which the meeting was conducted and its aftermath was clearly an attempt to bolster a false and unsubstantiated narrative of Shri Jadhav’s alleged activities. You would all agree that this exercise lacked any credibility.”
In the statement, it was pointed out that Jadav’s mother was not allowed to talk in her native tongue and his wife’s mangalsutra was taken off showing security issues.
Avanti and Chetankul Jadhav met Sushma Swaraj and foreign secretary S Jaishankar on Tuesday but the words exchanged by them was not made public.
Islamabad had claimed that his family members meet on the humanitarian atmosphere on the birth anniversary of Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
