Recent research has shown that proper exercise combined with daily intake of a healthy diet rich in protein, fruit and vegetables could help reduce symptoms.
A team of European Respiratory Society International Congress 2017 in Italy researched among a group of 149 patients. The group of researcher randomly assigned to one of four groups asked the group to intake diet with high protein and with a low g glycaemic index (low GI). The second group took part in high intensive activity as part of the exercise classes. Third group took part in exercise classes, also followed the diet. The last group did neither.

The research resulted that that a combination of diet and exercise improved both symptom control and patients’ quality of life, as well as their level of fitness is also improved.
