India has a trend of inviting a special guest from other nations to be present on the Republic day, that is, the 26th of January. The Republic Day is marked by a parade in theRaj Pathof New Delhi. It showcases the military power and cultural diversity of the nation. India has invited US President Donald Trump as a chief guest for the Republic day 2019. However, it has not been decided yet whether trump will be present or not on the 70th Republic day.
US Press secretary Sarah Sanders said no decision has been taken on the matter yet. Sanders also confirmed the presence of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and US Secretary of Defense James N Mattis in India the next month. US Secretary of State and US Secretary of Defense will visit India to start a dialogue, process and a potential discussion for a presidential visit later in the year.
